This album has also aged very well and perfectly fits in today’s climate. I enjoyed every song on here, some are just significantly better then others, but there’s not any real bad ones, in fact I don’t think this album has a true low point. I absolutely adore a lot of the songs on here and they will easily be listened to for a long time to come. However that being said, the highs on this album fucking soared.

I feel like it would have felt tighter and better paced if a few of the less memorable songs were cut. Another crucial flaw is that this album is just too long. Rager, which made the album feel a bit too much like patiently waiting for destinations instead of loving every song. For example, when I listened to Marijuana I found I had to wait a bit for another amazing song like Erase Me then after that had to wait a bit for a Mr. However unlike the first one, this album did not have great song after great song, but instead had some terrific songs stretched out among some pretty good ones. It’s crazy that before I considered MOTM2 to be better but after listening to all of them in order, I feel this one is. Cudi’s singing and rapping are both really good on this as well, as with later projects I believe usually one suffers to the other. Maybe a couple duds are in there, but holy shit this album felt like great song after great song.I also applaud Cudi for talking about depression and other emotional topics without feeling whiny or making his songs absurdly sad as a gimmick. Imo this is probably Cudi’s most well paced and consistently great project. It was a good debut though and I liked listening to it. The only downside is, I don’t see myself revisiting this much. It is one of those tapes, like a ton of other Cudi stuff, that I feel would fit in better in this day and age then it ddI when it released(2007 I believe.). So here are some rather brief thoughts on his albums, so without further ado here we go.Ī Kid Named Cudi: I thought this was an extremely solid debut. However, I decided to completely forget my prior love to certain songs and just go into this freshman. In fact I had listened to almost all of the first two MOTM and to the entirety of KSG. I wanted to get really into Cudi so I downloaded all the albums and gave him a listen.
